People planning to use a new trip planning tool on a New Zealand website have the option of also buying one-way travel insurance.
Xebidy Strategic Design, based in Queenstown, runs Travel Generation, a website designed to allow travellers to plan and share their experiences online and the company is trialling a new Travel Planner programme which is due to go viral in the coming weeks.
The new programme captures travel itineraries through a new kind of social bookmarking and puts it all in the same place for the user.
Dan Roberts, director of Xebidy, said: "A travel planner is only as good as its database and our database is infinite, unlike other travel websites constrained by a finite number of products that they've been contracted to use."
He added that it is a good way to share travel experiences with family and friends by way of a single space.
In related internet news, plans from Ryanair to charge £5 per passenger for online check-ins have been described as unfair by consumer magazine Which? Holiday.
