A new survey of British expatriates has revealed that New Zealand is among the top three countries in terms of quality of life.
NatWest International Personal Banking conducted a study to find out whether expats have lost their sense of 'Britishness', and where such sentiments were felt most strongly.
Canada (48 per cent) was named as the top country in which respondents adopted 'international identities', closely followed by New Zealand (32 per cent) and Spain (30 per cent).
Dave Isley, head of the firm, said: "People [are integrating well] when they move to countries - particularly English-speaking countries like Canada and New Zealand.
"If you move to an English-speaking community and you're prepared to throw yourself into that community, then what this has proven is that people are now thinking and believing that there is more than just the UK."
New Zealand is also a particularly popular destination with British gap year travellers, who would be well advised to take out
