Britons looking to head away on summer breaks have been reminded of the value of annual travel insurance.
A new poll conducted by American Express revealed that 31 per cent of people looking to purchase travel insurance over the coming year would be choosing a single-trip policy.
This is certainly a tempting option for anyone only having one holiday during the summer, but it is one which could ultimately prove more costly in the long run.
Chris Rolland, head of insurance services at the firm, explained that the flexibility and affordability of annual deals could be useful at this time of added financial pressure.
He said: "With so many cheap flights and last minute holiday deals available to Britons, taking a mini-break is all the more appealing.
"We understand that holiday costs can add up, but by investing in annual travel insurance, Brits will save in the long run and be free to enjoy several breaks throughout the year."
