Online travel insurance customers may be among those planning a trip to New York to take advantage of current exchange rates.
According to thetravelmagazine.net, the Big Apple is likely to see an influx of British visitors in the run-up to Christmas and beyond.
The travel site's editor Sharron Livingstone said the weak pound had affected people's choice of destination in recent months, "yet the appeal of New York often transcends any other factors".
Her comments follow a report from travel agent Hayes & Jarvis suggesting the improving pound against the dollar has made the US an affordable option again.
Research from the Office of Travel and Tourism Industries at the US Department of Commerce has also predicted a three per cent rise in visitors by the end of 2010.
Despite this rising optimism, New York hoteliers "are not taking any chances and are frantically reducing room rates," added Ms Livingstone.
