Online travel insurance customers off to the Netherlands will be greeted by a friendly welcome and a wealth of culture and events, says a tourism expert.
According to the Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions, the Dutch are a very warm and open people.
"They enjoy speaking to visitors from different countries and often speak several languages, making communication easier," explained the board's spokesperson.
She added that classic attractions remain the country's windmills, tulips and cheese, but visitors would also find the country's love of art and design a strong draw, with museums across Amsterdam, Rotterdam and the Hague all showcasing new exhibitions and events.
Her comments follow the release of new research from market researcher OnePoll, which found that Holland was the most friendly tourist destination in Europe.
The country scored almost twice as many votes as second-placed Greece.
