British children are travelling abroad more than ever, according to new research released today (July 9th).
Price comparison website Insurance.co.uk conducted a study which showed that 60 per cent of children under the age of three have already been overseas, while 30 per cent have been abroad on at least three occasions.
The 'jet-setting junior' trend has also seen 27 per cent of babies under the age of six months leaving British shores on more than four occasions, with 13 per cent having done so on over six occasions.
Steve Grainger, head of insurance at the website, said: "Now that government rules about term time holidays have become so much stricter, families with school age children are restricted to travelling during the more expensive, school holiday period.
"New parents are aware that they will not be able to benefit from cheap 'kids go free', term time deals and are making the most of extended maternity leave."
Mr Grainger also highlighted the fact that securing a comprehensive travel insurance plan is crucial for anyone looking to go abroad with their children.
