Britons choosy and well-covered in terms of travel insurance

Britain is among the best-covered nations when it comes to travel insurance, new research confirmed yesterday (July 8th).

TripAdvisor, the world's largest travel community, conducted a survey relating to travel insurance which incorporated 3,700 travellers from all over the globe.

The results show that 85 per cent of Britons regularly take out policies for trips abroad, compared to 75 per cent of backpackers and holidaymakers from elsewhere.

Furthermore, Britons are statistically the best bargain-hunters when it comes to travel insurance, with 69 per cent planning to secure annual multi-trip plans over the next 12 months.

By comparison, just 18 per cent of the 'rest of the world' category will adopt multi-trip deals, while 40 per cent will choose single-trip policies instead.

Eighty-nine per cent of Britons also admitted that they use price comparison websites to find the best deals, while only 11 per cent suggested that they accepted the first quote given to them.

This compares with figures of 58 per cent and 42 per cent respectively for the rest of the travellers questioned as part of the research.ADNFCR-1708-ID-18677505-ADNFCR
