A new study released yesterday (July 23rd) has suggested that Britons will not be cutting back on expenses while abroad on holiday.
Despite the pressure on household finances being increased by the rising cost of food, fuel and other unavoidable commodities, cutting corners on summer break spending is seemingly not an option.
The research, carried out by the Co-Operative Bank, revealed that 53 per cent of people are not planning to be more careful with their money when they jet off on their trips.
Maxine Xodo from the bank said: "The findings clearly show that despite the current economic climate, after working hard all year many people are reluctant to cut back on their summer holiday spending."
The study also showed that the average traveller spends £18 at the airport, with food and drink being the most common purchases as 84 per cent of people admitted to spending money on them.
With Britons prepared to loosen the purse strings slightly for their holidays, one thing that should not be left off the list is paying for travel insurance.
