New research released today (August 5th) has suggested that Britons cannot fully relax on holiday until they are into the third day of their trip.
European mobile home specialists Keycamp carried out the poll of 3,000 holidaymakers, and found that it takes two days, nine hours and 25 minutes on average for respondents to properly unwind.
Furthermore, the average Briton will spend a huge 18 days planning and researching their break, but just nine days actually enjoying it away from home.
Keycamp marketing manager Dave McKenna said: "It shows that we really need to learn how to relax. We work the longest hours in Europe and deserve to chill out on our annual holiday.
"People get so carried away with planning and researching our holiday, it seems we forget the reason we're going on a break. We should be relishing the precious time we have away."
Indeed, the survey showed that a quarter of Britons cannot fully relax due to money and work worries back home, while a staggering 11 per cent even claimed to take work on holiday with them.
With other worries abound, the possibility of having an expensive accident should be eradicated by holidaymakers through securing a simple,
cheap travel insurance policy.
