Backpackers planning a stay in a Scottish hostel shortlisted for a Scottish tourism award could first buy one-way travel insurance.
Heb Hostel in Stornoway is a four-star hostel that was founded by 29-year-old entrepreneur Christine Macintosh and the young manager has been shortlisted for an accolade at the Moffat Travel and Tourism Awards.
Held in Edinburgh on May 28th, the awards have been established to recognise contributions to the Scottish tourism industry made by young businesspeople.
Mark Strudwick, chief executive of the Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust, which launched the awards two years ago, said: "Our finalists have all played a leading role in enhancing the visitor experience of Scotland, while making a positive economic impact on their local communities."
Heb Hostel is situated on the Isle of Lewis and features nearly 30 wooden beds individually carved by Ms Macintosh's cousin.
The hostel could prove a special pull for visiting backpackers with
gap year travel insurance.
