People planning on travelling to Beijing for the Olympic Games have been urged to make sure they check the latest travel advice before their departure.
The Games got underway last week to much fanfare and anticipation, and they run until August 24th, while the Paralympic Games run from September 6th-17th.
With many people heading to China full of patriotic fervour, the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) is warning Britons in particular to check for the latest travel advice updates.
Spokesman Sean Tipton said: "If you travelling independently - and a lot of people do choose to do that - then it is essential that you check the foreign office website to check their travel advice.
"There is the visa requirement as well, so that is something you need to sort out before you go to the Olympics."
Travellers are also advised to ensure that they have their passports on them at all times as they may be subject to random checks, while taking out
cheap travel insurance is also something that would be hugely beneficial.
