Britons who are planning to head to Beijing for the upcoming Olympic Games have been advised to ensure their travel insurance is up to date.
Preparations for the Games are drawing to their conclusion in the city, with travellers from all corners of the world expected to descend on China for the August 8th kick-off.
However, there are certain rules and regulations in place for visitors which, if not adhered to, could add further cost to an already expensive trip or ruin it altogether.
Mike Pickard, head of travel insurance at esure, said: "A cancelled flight, lost luggage, a serious bout of illness - it wouldn't take much for an Olympic dream trip to turn into a nightmare.
"It's crucial to take out quality travel insurance cover and follow advice given on health and safety issues whilst in China.
"Being fully prepared will ensure you have an enjoyable and memorable time at the Games."
Supporters must check that their passports are valid for at least six months and a visa must be secured in advance from the Chinese Embassy in London.
