People hoping to book a trip to the site of a proposed new hostel in the Scottish Highlands could first buy one-way travel insurance.
The Scotsman reports that Duncraig Castle, which overlooks Plockton in the Highlands, is to be sold and could be used as a backpacker hostel by the new owner.
Currently owned by the Dobson family, recent renovations on the structure were filmed for a documentary on the 19th Century property and it is on the market for £800,000, offering nearly 30 bedrooms and ten bathrooms, alongside two islands and a boathouse.
It seems to have captured the imagination of buyers across the world, with nearly a dozen offers having already been made from as far away as South Africa, Canada and the US.
If the castle does become a hostel, the region could potentially become a magnet for backpackers, many of whom could have bought
cheap travel insurance.
Hostels are often favoured by backpackers across the world as they normally offer cheap rates for increasingly good-quality accommodation in a communal setting.
