ABTA's spokeswoman Frances Tuke said: "The vast majority of people are still travelling abroad and not really cutting back substantially."
Ms Tuke added that many people are finding value for money in areas outside the EU and dollar regions such as Turkey and Egypt.
According to online travel agent Sunshine.co.uk, over 70 per cent of Brits have already booked a holiday abroad this year or plan to later in the year.
Customers surveyed by the travel agent say that for 2009, offering value for money is a key requirement for their holiday destination.
Figures released earlier this month by the Office for National Statistics found that in 2008, UK residents made 69 million trips abroad, a drop of 0.6 per cent from 2007.
