A small surf town in Peru has been hailed as the perfect destination for UK backpackers looking for a fun-filled few days on their gap year travels.
Mancora, situated on the Pacific coast, has proved to be popular due to its lively atmosphere, with all-night bars, restaurants and shops pulling in plenty of young travellers.
Furthermore, it is also something of a haven for seafood lovers, with freshly caught lobster, king prawns or crabs readily available at very reasonable prices.
Rhian Nicholson, who is currently travelling in the area, said: "With the majority of the bars offering two for one cocktails for a mere ten soles (less than two quid) and blasting out cheesy music, you'd be forgiven for thinking you'd stumbled into your old uni's student union during freshers' week."
Ms Nicholson pointed out that for the really adventurous folk on a night out, some of the health food cafes offer 'maca' - otherwise known as the Peruvian Viagra - baked into cakes.
She also added that the 'drink till you drop' nightlife means that daytimes are largely spent relaxing on the gritty sand beaches and sampling the juices on offer at nearby cafes.
