Travellers planning a stay in a new Cardiff hostel are advised to buy
backpacker travel insurance before heading out.
Walesonline.co.uk reports that a former hotel in Cardiff is being transformed into a luxury backpacker's hostel with an investment of £1 million from Welsh businessman Sion Llewelyn. The old Riverbank Hotel looks across the River Taff at the Millennium Stadium, and Mr Llewelyn will use a £125,000 grant originating from the Welsh Assembly to develop a luxury hostel that appeals to all ages.
Mr Llewelyn told the website: "Comfort, convenience and value are the driving forces. What you don't get are the things that many people are happy to forego, such as room service, porters, newspapers etc."
The hostel, named Nos Da - or 'Good Night' - will offer beds for 100 people in a mixture of dormitories and private rooms, while ensuite bathrooms and even internet connections for each individual bed, will be standard features.
