Bob Atkinson, travel expert at Travelsupermarket.com, said: "There are still a significant amount of people out there who are able to continue as normal and are still travelling as normal."
Research by the Association of Independent Tour Operators found that more than three-quarters of people intend to travel at least as much as they did last year.
Despite many commentators saying that the 'staycation' will be the most popular choice for breaks this year, 70 per cent of those questioned were planning to travel outside the UK.
Mr Atkinson said that holidaymakers could still have time to snap up a bargain, especially on long-haul travel.
"People who are travelling are snapping up air travel and holidays at prices we have never really seen before," he added.
