Kate Taylor, a spokesperson for dating website match.com, said: "A sunny climate and relaxing destination will help to banish any 'domestic drudgery' divorces, where there is nothing particularly wrong but the couple have just become bogged-down in the daily routine."
She recommended taking a holiday abroad to provide variety and some distance on everyday problems, such as how domestic chores are split.
"A change of scene can lift the spirits and make couples see their day-to-day problems more clearly, with some distance," she added.
Her comments follow news the holiday operator KV Tours and Travels is offering new divorce tourism packages where troubled couples can discuss their problems with a marriage counsellor while abroad.
