Worldwide travel insurance customers could head to the Pyrenees for sun and snow

Skiers planning a trip to the Pyrenees, who could choose online travel insurance, can enjoy both snowy slopes and sunshine, says a travel expert.

Chantal Pitin, head of leisure traffic development at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, said this combination is what makes the region so uniquely attractive.

"We are in the south of France and what is different about the resort is that they are little resorts, family resorts, so the atmosphere is very different from the Alps," she explained.

The airport receives flights from London, Bristol and Edinburgh, making it possible for almost all Britons to make the trip, she added.

According to the Ski Club of Great Britain, France continues to dominate the UK's wintersports market, with 43 per cent of skiers and snowboarders crossing the channel to find snowy slopes.

Ms Pitin added that last year saw the mountain range benefit from an impressive snowfall, attracting a large number of UK holidaymakers to the region.
